Allen Chester Shoup led the Washington State wine industry through its formative years before establishing Long Shadows Vintners in 2002. Throughout a storied career that spanned 42 years, he made it his mission to showcase the world-class quality of Washington vineyards and wines. As a tribute to Allen’s vision, influence, and leadership, we created this exclusive Cabernet Sauvignon bottling that reflects the best of the growing region. A portion of the proceeds from every bottle sold will be donated to the Allen Shoup Memorial Foundation. Only 125 cases produced.
Tasting Notes:
PDFDeeply concentrated and polished with a broad spectrum of aromatics spanning from ripe dark fruits, graphite, plum puree, cocoa and roasted meats. The vibrant character of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is highlighted by a dense core or blackberry flavors and a silky texture that hold it all together. Complex and profound, the wine extends its energy and purity across a long-lasting finish.
Vineyards
For this wine, we selected a very special block (#505) planted at Kaiser Vineyard with Clone 7 on the Horse Heaven Hills. This block that hangs above the Columbia River, yields refined tannins and old-world aromas and flavors like dried herbs and black currants.
