Allen Shoup receives Sunset Magazine'Lifetime Achievement Award
Washington wine pioneer and Long Shadows Vintners founder Allen Shoup, will be honored with the Sunset Western Wine Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Shoup is the second recipient of this extraordinary honor, which Sunset began awarding in 2010 to a person in the wine industry who has contributed the majority of their life towards furthering the quality and reputation of wine in the West.

In their annual review of the year's top wines, Poet's Leap Riesling was once again chosen by the editors of Wine Enthusiast Magazine as one of the very best wines from around the world. It was named the #7 most coveted wine in 2010, and the top rated wine from Washington state.

The dinner with China's President Hu Jintao, which was described as a “quintessentially American” meal, included the 2005 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2008 Long Shadows Botrytis Riesling.
