SIP Northwest - Best of the Northwest

This is the 10th year of the Best of the Northwest competition, and we are truly awestruck by what this region has to offer. For this year's competition we have again assembled and all-star panel of sommeliers and other educated palates to determine the best of the best. Taking the top spot in their varietal categories are:

2019 Dance Chardonnay: Platinum Award
Layers of golden peach and red apple coupled with baking spices and soft oak makes this a textbook example of Washington Chardonnay. Two of the state's oldest sites for Chardonnay plantings - French Creek and Boushey Vineyard - offer complexity and structure to the full-bodied white, along with mouthwatering acidity that encourages you to take one more sip.

2020 Cymbal Sauvignon Blanc: Platinum Award
On a mission for balance, this Sauvignon Blanc is divided up and aged in a cement egg, stainless steel, French oak and neutral barrels - resulting in complexity and accessibility. Notes of gooseberry, lychee, lemongrass and a whiff of fresh-cut grass pop in the glass, with tart berries and passion fruit mingling on the lush, medium-bodied palate, finishing with a solid, clean backbone of acid.
